The Sher-Fab line of Naples Sabots is considered by knowledgeable boating families to be the ultimate in smallcraft family recreation. Our versitility is equaled by few other watercraft. The following represent a few of the boat's many uses:

Designed For Versitility

The Naples Sabot is one of the largest and most popular one-design classes of sailing craft in existence today. This popularity is due in part to two features: 1) the leeboard (sideboard), which allows more versatility than a daggerboard, and 2) the fixed keel, which allows the craft to be rowed or towed without a fish-tail effect and also prevents taking in of water through the daggerboard trunk. Its versatility doesn't stop there, however. Our Naples Sabots are light enough to be transported on the top of a car or put in the back of a station wagon, van, suv, or pickup. Larger sailboats and crusiers can easily carry a sabot across their sterns to be used as a tender. Young people can even pull one on a small trailer, either manually or behind a bicycle.

Performance You Can Count On

The Sher-Fab line of Naples Sabots is the ideal choice for beginning sailors and racing veterans alike. Children as young as six years, who may not have the size, weight, or ability to handle a high performance race boat may wish to start out in the "3-D" version. The "3-D" has minimal rigging and is designed to maneuver safely and easily with a minimum of instruction. The "3-D" also lends itself to small electric or outboard motors when requested with a slightly heavier lay-up. This is also an ideal choice for community beginning sailing programs.

The competitive sailor will appreciate the full racing version, "CORSAIR". Its options are specifically designed to give the speed and performance required to meet the true challenge of racing.

The International Naples Sabot Association (INSA), headquartered in Southern California, closely oversees the operation of the Naples Sabot racing programs in many yacht clubs. The INSA considers the "CORSAIR" version of the Naples Sabot to be a prominent leader in the sport.

Custom-Built to Ensure Quality

Each sabot built by Sher-Fab is custom-built with the highest quality materials, hardware, and workmanship available. Unique multi-color designs (currently not available) on the "CORSAIR" version became an identifiable trademark of the builder, Doug Sherman, who is recognized as a true craftsman by all who own his products. Adjustable mast-rake system, leeboard fitting, rudder stop, and swivel goose-neck fitting designed by Sher-Fab to offer maximum performance in all types of sailing conditions.

12 gpm hand-operated bilge pump.
