This Tow'dster Was Tow'dally Worth It!

He'd been bitten by the dune buggy bug. The craving for off-road action, the need for speed, and the dream of cruising in a classic Meyers Tow'd – these all led him on a quest to find the perfect ride. And not just any ride, but one his son could learn to drive in, a vintage masterpiece with a story to tell. Then he saw it—a Tangerine Red Tow'dster, complete with full fenders, engine cover, the whole shebang. It was like stumbling upon buried treasure!

But just like buried treasure, it almost slipped through his fingers. The seller went silent! Thankfully, a little online detective work led him to the new owner. After some negotiation, the Tow'dster was his!

"I was stoked when I finally tracked it down," Doug Lyle recalls. "It was the exact buggy I'd been dreaming of."

Now, this beauty was a diamond in the rough (okay, maybe more rough than diamond). The fiberglass needed a serious makeover. Enter his friend Miguel, a fiberglass guru with over 25 years of experience. Together, they headed to Sherfab, the ultimate destination for restoration supplies.

Sherfab equipped them with everything they needed: resin, MEK, chop strand, and that perfect Tangerine Red gel coat. The color match was dead-on! After Miguel worked his magic, the shine was incredible. Even his friend John, who was helping with the mechanical restoration, was impressed.

"The color match was perfect," Doug says. "Sherfab really came through for us."

With the fiberglass looking like a million bucks, it was time to get this baby running! And this was just the beginning. He had a Meyers Manx Resorter and a Mantaray 2 Kyote waiting in the wings. (Check out the pics!) Miguel was even helping him reproduce some rare parts for the Kyote, so fellow dune buggy enthusiasts could get their hands on those elusive pieces.
