John Dominguez is a seasoned auto body and paint professional and owner of Reson8 Speed & Marine. John has a passion for restoring classic vehicles, hot rods, muscle cars, motorcycles, and now boats!

"I have years of experience in auto body and paint work. However, I've always been apprehensive about working with gel coat and fiberglass repair," John admits.

But after a summer accident with an inexperienced boater cutting him off, John was faced with the choice of totaling his beloved 78 Eliminator day cruiser or tackling the repairs himself. John decided to dive in!

"With the help of Chuck Ludwig, Heath Garcia, and my son Johnathon, we started the demo process to repair my boat. In the process, we have rebuilt the engine, restored the floor, the damaged hull and dash. This was my first time working with this medium and we were even able to re-create the wood grain dash and eliminator pinstriping. I ordered Sherfab's gel coat with topcoat and finished with topcoat clear."

John is now working on a 21” Eliminator Daytona to bring it back to its former glory and erase all the damage caused by years of use and modification.
